About Uniting Seniors in the City
Uniting Seniors in the City (formerly Trinity School for Seniors) is an outreach mission of the Uniting Church in the City, committed to helping older adults to participate in lifelong learning and to have friendship and companionship on this journey. Uniting Seniors in the City (USIC) endeavours to achieve a balance between educational programs, social activities, peer learning opportunities and a holistic attitude towards wellness.
History of USIC
This outreach program was started in 1979 at Trinity Church from a desire for older adults to remain active and engaged in a community.
Today
USIC provides over 80 courses for 400-500 attendees over five days during a term. In 2026 the school will transition to the new name of "Uniting Seniors in the City". This name better reflects that we are a Uniting Church in the City outreach, not just a Trinity one and removes some of the negative connotations people may have of a "school". With our central location, we will continue to unite seniors from all over Perth to the same community which has been welcoming people for the last 47 years. Whether a new member or a returning member, we encourage you to 'have a go' and try a variety of the many courses which are on offer.
