Story is the Soul of Culture Part B: Creating Stories
Tutor: Jim Pollock
You are invited to undertake a journey into story – to uncover the stories in you that tell of your life and its meaning. They can be a scene, a chapter or a book; they can be truth (memoir) or fiction but you must create them. Stories can be powerful or fall flat. There are guidelines for structuring stories so they work. That is what this course is about. It comes in two parts.
Part B: Creating stories – Having discovered the tools of effective writing, you will be more equipped now to tell the stories that have meaning for you. This can be in whatever genre you want: memoir, historical fiction, crime, or ghost stories. Although theory is revisited and refreshed, much of the time will be spent workshopping your own story and those of others.
Suitable for: Those who have completed part A
